As part of the wider industry familiarization, the Board of Governors of the Association of Oil Marketing Companies (AOMC) called on the Honourable Minister for Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh at his office. It was an opportunity for the AOMC to introduce the Newly Constituted Board to the Minister as key partners of our collective development of the Energy sector, particularly the downstream industry.

The Honourable Minister reiterated the Government’s resolve to revive the Nation’s premier refinery, Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) due to its strategic importance towards our crude oil value addition efforts and asked the Association to support the Government in this direction.

Other discussions centered on Cylinder Re-circulation Policy, Zonalization, the Fuel Marking, and other petroleum downstream related issues.

The Honourable Minister assured the AOMC of his continuous support as well as an open-door policy for engagements all to ensure efficient service delivery.

Finally, he stressed his willingness to continuously collaborate with the relevant stakeholders to ensure that this critical sector becomes robust to support our economy.
