Dr. Riverson Oppong, the Chief Executive Officer of AOMC, accompanied by Susana Aba Eyiah Membership Development Officer paid a courtesy call on Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributor’s Chief Executive Officer (CBOD), Dr. Patrick Kwaku Ofori.

The purpose of the visit was to pay a courtesy call on CBOD as AOMC recognizes them as a key major stakeholder in the downstream petroleum sector and to explore potential areas of collaboration between the two entities.
The Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (CBOD) serves as the advocacy, lobby, and representative body of Bulk Oil Import, Distribution, and Export Companies (BIDECs), Storage Depots, and other affiliated Petroleum Service Providers (PSPs) in the downstream petroleum industry.

They also function as an industry research and strategy unit committed to enhancing the industry’s commercial viability and sustainability. The chamber operates as an active and responsible industry player, partnering with allied agencies for national development while coordinating and facilitating healthy cooperation and competition among its members. Currently, the chamber has a membership of 46 made up of BIDECs, 7 storage Depots, and 3 other PSPs.
Dr. Oppong highlighted the importance of working together to create a sustainable downstream sector for the benefit of its member organizations.

The AOMC believes that the Chamber of Bulk Distribution Company (CBOD) is one of the key stakeholders that should collaborate and work together to promote sustainability and sanity in the downstream sector.
Dr. Ofori confirmed his assurance and commitment as a partner, to help strengthen the relationship with AOMC to be actively involved in CBOD’s activities.

The Head of Finance at CBOD, Mr. Richard Kissi shared his deep sentiment, underlining the imperative of collaboration between CBOD and AOMCs to ensure smooth operations within the petroleum downstream sector. Dr. Ofori congratulated Dr. Oppong on his new role saying ‘Your untiring support and foresight in identifying emerging industry issues are highly valued’.
