Dr. Riverson Oppong, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer/Industry Coordinator of the Association of Oil Marketing Companies (AOMC), accompanied by Tizard Ansah, Head of Operations and Compliance, and Abena Ofosua Larbi, Communication Officer, paid a courtesy visit to Energy Media Group(EMG) on Thursday,18th April 2024.

The AOMC team was warmly welcomed by a team from Energy Media Group(EMG) comprising, Ing. Henry Teinor, CEO, Energy Media Group, Mr. Vincent Kuma; HR Manager, Ms. Sandra Atuahene; Finance and Administrative Assistant, Ms. Stephanie Tetteh; Media Relations Officer, Mr. Emmanuel Abossey; Events and Creative design associate and Mr Kwame Atiase; Deputy manager, Corporate communications.

The Energy Media Group was established in Ghana in 2014 as a media firm with a prime focus on the energy sector and aimed to deliver reports purposively on its happenings, performances, and stakeholders.

The Company today, under the stern but admirable direction of the Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Ing. Henry Teinor, in a quest to bridge the needs and solutions of Energy Sector stakeholders continues to extend its areas of expertise.

As is their mantra, “Local in Focus, Global in Perspective”, the Energy Media Group is driven to establish itself as a force to reckon on the global energy scene; a path we continue to light up as we venture into the West African sub-region.
Looking ahead, Energy Media Group hopes to consolidate gains made in the Ghanaian energy sector by actively expanding its services to meet the ever-growing needs of stakeholders both locally and globally.

During the meeting, Kwame Atiase, the Deputy Manager, Corporate Communications, presented an overview of the Energy Media Group’s operations.

Dr. Riverson Oppong provided an update on the AOMC’s work and outlined its roadmap, emphasizing the dynamic nature of the industry and the need for continual education on industry trends and markets.

Collaborative discussions were centered on educating the media on industry trends, terms, and in-depth comprehension of the industry as well as providing EMG with information on AOMC activities and engagement.

Dr. Oppong was also optimistic about collaborating to solve challenges in the downstream petroleum industry.

Ing. Teinor raised concerns about industry issues such as price cartelization, credibility, sanitization of the industry, and protection of consumer interests.

Before bidding farewell, Dr. Oppong expressed his gratitude to Energy Media Group for their hospitality and honesty, affirming his commitment to serving as a responsive and proactive advocate for the collective interests of OMCs/LPGMCs.
Ing. Teinor congratulated Dr. Oppong on his new role and expressed gratitude for the visit, acknowledging the value of Dr. Oppong’s expertise and leadership.
